American Legion, Clyde Bolling Post 55, Boy State Info:


To participate in American Legion Boys State, students must meet the following requirements: 

  • Be a male high school student

  • Have completed their junior year of high school

  • Have at least one more semester of high school remaining

  • Have outstanding qualities of leadership, character, scholarship, loyalty, and service

  • Have a medical/parental consent certificate signed by a parent and registered doctor

  • Be a legal inhabitant of the U.S.

  • Have an interest in government or current events

  • Have high moral character

  • Demonstrate above-average scholastic achievement

 Interviews conducted by Post 55 will be Sunday, April 6, between 3pm - 5pm.

2025 Application Process

 

1. The 2025 Application is to be completed all online. No paper application will be available or accepted.

 

2. Apply at: www.tarheelboysstate.org/apply When you apply, please list our Post Number, Post 55 under     “Recommended by” on the application. This will make sure we get the application.

 

3. The link sends a Google Form for basic information (name, email, parent name, parent email).

 

4. DocuSign automatically sends the Delegate the application. Delegate completes the application and          signs the delegate pledge.

 

5. DocuSign then automatically sends the application to the Parent. They complete the medical form,            upload health insurance card, sign the acknowledgement and waivers.

 

6. Application is sent to THBS Staff for processing.

 

7. THBS Staff will forward application to appropriate Post by email.
